Michael John Mollo has inked a deal to score the festival bound documentary "We The Parents." James Takata directs and Jennifer Welsh produce a revealing look into California's new "Parent Trigger" law that allows parents to take over failing schools. This doc is a controversial look into both the law and its application at a school in Compton, CA. Look for songs and score to be available in February 2012
"I Will Make the Rain, " the song written by Jake Monaco and Michael John Mollo for the film Identical has been nominated for Best Song at the 2011 Hollywood Music in Media Awards. The awards will be held at the Kodak theatre in Hollywood on November 17, 2011.
Michael John Mollo has begun work on the score for Deila Vallot's "Tunnel Vision." The score will feature wicked sound design complemented with an eerie string sextet. The crim thriller stars Cristos who will also executive produce.
Michael John Mollo's 2nd score CD has released on itunes and at amazon.com. This album features songs and score from the two short films "Texas Toast" and "Pony Man" directed by Chane't Johnson and Produced by Robert Hensley.
Michael John Mollo's feature film Identical is set to premiere at the Peter Norton Symphony Center on July 23rd @ 7:15 PM as part of the 2011 Manhattan Film Festival.
Michael John Mollo recently completed the lullaby "A Whisper Away for the film Pony Man. Pony Man was left unfinished upon the passing of director Chanet Johnson. Thankfully producer Robert Hensely saw the project to completion. Michael recorded the amazing lead vocal of Valarie Pettiford to complete the song. Monaco was recently interviewed by John Morgan Wilson for an article at westhollywood.patch.com. The feature explores Jake's composition process with filmmaker Rob Williams on their most recent collaboration, 'Role/Play'.

Jake Monaco and Jen Hansen's most recent music video, "It's Christmas Time", is officially released on YouTube and Faceback. The song was featured as the opening song to last year's film "Make The Yuletide Gay" directed by Rob Williams. Q6 Studios produced the video which was directed by Brittany Biggs. This is Monaco and Biggs' second collaboration together after her animated short "A Tall Tale".
This weekend will be the premiere of LA Live's Media event at the STAPLES Center and Nokia Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles. Monaco collaborated with Wade Loewe (VP, Multimedia Productions) on a holiday video montage that will show every hour in the evenings. It will be aired for the first time after a concert featuring Seal, Plain White T's, and Stevie Wonder on KTLA 5 on Saturday December 04 at 5:30pm.
Nick Fevola will be working with director Tamara Rosenfeld next week on a documentary short in support of Coca-Cola's "5 By 20" campaign, through which Coke has pledged to empower 5 million women entrepreneurs by 2020. The piece will be premiered at the upcoming TED Women's Conference in Washington, D.C. on December 7-8.
Jake will be teaming up with director Aprill Winney to write two songs for her upcoming film The David Dance. Shot in Buffalo, NY and set to be released in 2011, The David Dance is about a man's struggle with self-doubt and the relationship with his sister when she asks him to become the father figure of her soon-to-be adopted Brazilian child.
There are no plans for a soundtrack album at this point.
MJM has signed on to score the indie psychological thriller Identical. The picture directed by Daniel Bollag stars Jonathan Togo and Emily Foxler.
Nick Fevola and Alexander Burke have begun writing music for PIG, an upcoming independent feature film from director Henry Barrial and producer Mark Stolaroff. Look for more news to come on the film later this year through the Spring of 2011. In the meantime, check out the PIG Facebook page.
