December 20, 2014: Mollo Scoring "November Rule"

Michael John Mollo is currently scoring "November Rule" for Queen Latifah's Flavor Unit Productions. The film directed by Mike Elliot will play on BET in February 2015 with a Netflix release to follow. 

September 1, 2014: Mollo to score "The Inherited"

Michael John Mollo has begun work on the score for "The Inherited"  The film is written by Jenn Liu, directed by Devon Gummersall and stars Nathan Darrow alongside Liu.  Look for the film and the score to be available later this year

December 15, 2013: Rad Retro Strider Soundtrack comparison

Capcom Unity blogger Gregaman has featured a rad retro soundtrack comparison with Michael John Mollo's new score for the video game set against the original game music.  A nice interview is included as well.  Chec it out HERE

July 19, 2013: Capcom accounced new Strider game featuring MJM score

Today at Comi-Con, Capcom announced a new HD game in the classic arcade series "Strider".  Michael has been working on the music for this title with the development team at 'Double Helix' since December 2012.  The title will most likely release in early 2014

June 13, 2013: Chill.com - Vigilante Diaries

Michael John Mollo has collaborated with Christian Sems and Seskri Productions on the new web series Vigilante Diares.  2 episodes are shot and available at chill.com

The series marks a new development model where the fans decide the fate of the program.

Vigilante Diaries is a high energy, fast-paced ride into the dark world of vigilante justice, following a pair of vigilantes who take justice into their own hands. Mike Hanover (Jason Mewes) is our storyteller bringing us right into the action through his documentary  cameras mounted right in the middle of the carnage that ensues. It's in many ways like a live-action first-person shooter game but with a gripping story that is just beginning to unfold. 

 

July 5, 2012: The Lepidoctor Wins Best Score

The Lepidoctor, directed by Jonathan Barenboim, screened at the LA Reel Film Festival last month earning a variety of awards including: 1st Place Student Film, Best Cinematography, Best Production Design, Best Special Effects and Best Score. March 21, 2012: Struck By Lightning to premiere at TriBeCa

Last week TriBeCa Film Festival announced its lineup for 2012 [Variety Article Here] and included was director Brian Dannelly's 'Struck By Lightning'.  The world premiere is set to take place on Saturday April 21st. Composer Jake Monaco finished working with Dannelly on the film this past January.

March 8, 2012: "The Road We've Traveled" UPDATED

Jake Monaco recently worked with composer Christophe Beck on a 17-minute documentary reviewing the first three years of the Obama administration. The trailer for the film, by oscar-winning director Davis Guggenheim, was released today. The official release date for "The Road We've Traveled" is March 15, 2012.

December 1, 2011: Mollo signs on to "We The Parents"

Michael John Mollo has inked a deal to score the festival bound documentary "We The Parents." James Takata directs and Jennifer Welsh produce a revealing look into California's new "Parent Trigger" law that allows parents to take over failing schools. This doc is a controversial look into both the law and its application at a school in Compton, CA.  Look for songs and score to be available in February 2012

October 20, 2011: "I Will Make the Rain" nominated for best song

"I Will Make the Rain, " the song written by Jake Monaco and Michael John Mollo for the film Identical has been nominated for Best Song at the 2011 Hollywood Music in Media Awards.  The awards will be held at the Kodak theatre in Hollywood on November 17, 2011.

September 26, 2011: Mollo Starts Tunnel Vision

Michael John Mollo has begun work on the score for Deila Vallot's "Tunnel Vision."  The score will feature wicked sound design complemented with an eerie string sextet.  The crim thriller stars Cristos who will also executive produce.

July 19, 2011: Texas Toast / Pony Man releases on itunes / amazon

Michael John Mollo's 2nd score CD has released on itunes and at amazon.com.  This album features songs and score from the two short films "Texas Toast" and "Pony Man" directed by Chane't Johnson and Produced by Robert Hensley.

June 14, 2011: Identical to Premiere at the Manhattan Film festival

Michael John Mollo's feature film Identical is set to premiere at the Peter Norton Symphony Center on July 23rd @ 7:15 PM as part of the 2011 Manhattan Film Festival.

April 28, 2011: Mollo records "A Whisper Away" for Pony Man

Michael John Mollo recently completed the lullaby "A Whisper Away for the film Pony Man.  Pony Man was left unfinished upon the passing of director Chanet Johnson.  Thankfully producer Robert Hensely saw the project to completion.  Michael recorded the amazing lead vocal of Valarie Pettiford to complete the song.  Check out www.michaeljohnmollo.com to hear the song.
